Abstract

The article presents an interview with Margaret Randolph Higonnet on women's and gender history of World War I. Topics of conversation include the handling of the impact of the war on the social and economic positions of women in her book "Behind the Lines. Gender and the Two World Wars", gendered aspects of war propaganda, and alleged feminization of World War I soldiers in the "double helix" social theory. [Vandenhoeck & Reprecht Verlage]
