Abstract

This article deals with the developments in the relationship between the military and women that emerged at the beginning of the 21st century. The starting point is the presentation of the most important quantitative developments in national armed forces, both in the countries of NATO and in the post-socialist countries. It turns out that women have been included in the armed forces in many countries and women have found their way into the military institution. These developments raise the question of the construction of the professionalism of female soldiers. This is covered in the second point. The inclusion of women is associated with important changes, such as the change in the social and legal status of the military. It is increasingly losing its special position in society. The principle of equal treatment of the sexes in professional life now applies as a guideline for the structuring of employment relationships in this area of society as well.
