Abstract

This book makes a contribution to the history of sexuality under National Socialism with a focus on the so-called forbidden contacts. It examines the criminalization of  sexual relationship of the German men and women outside of the military  with prisoners of war and civilian forced laborers. The focus of the work is the “paradigmatic character of social offenses”. The author therefore examines what the prohibitions on these form of contact contained, why they were considered necessary and how they were legitimized. From 1939 onwards, several ordinances were enacted which regulated the sanctioning of contacts and the penalties for violations and which became more severe in the course of the war.
