One of the best examples of Czech New Wave cinema and Oscar winner for Best Foreign Language Film, Closely Watched Trains is a coming-of-age story set in German-occupied Czechoslovakia during World War II. Young Miloš is a guard of a small rail station and easily impressed with the overt sexual prowess of Hubička, a dispatcher an Resistance fighter. Miloš quest to become a man takes a detour when he must follow through with his idol's plan to blow up a German ammunition train.
