The assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, the Nazi Reich Protector of German-occupied Prague, number-two man in the SS, and a chief architect of the Holocaust, was a victory for the Allies and Resistance during World War II. Although the details were not yet known, this film portrays the assassination of the "Hangman of Europe" as the result of one man's patriotism. When his safe house is compromised, he finds shelter elsewhere. The Gestapo's manhunt results in the execution of innocents until he is found.
