Abstract	Oscar-nominated for Best Foriegn Language Film, Beaufort recounts the final months of Israeli occupation of Lebanon during 2000. Israeli soldiers guard the mountain fortress, which symbolized their 18-year presence in South Lebanon. Under attack, without any ground support, the soldiers withdraw from the fortress they had long protected with plans to destroy it.
