Visually styled as a post-war film noir, The Good German explores corruption, immorality, and compromise in post-World War II Berlin. American war correspondent Jake Geismar arrives in Berlin to cover the Potsdam Conference and reunite with his old flame Lena. His attention soon turns to unraveling murder mysteries, both of which are connected to Lena. That leads him to uncover the U.S. Army's secret mission to recruit German scientists involved with perpetrating the Holocaust.
