Abstract

Primarily known as a dramatist, writer and artist, Dearmer worked with the Women’s Emergency Corps during World War I, as Chairman of the Publicity Department, and into fundraising for Belgian refugees. She then joined the Third Serbian Relief Unit, out of which Letters from a Field Hospital comes. Dearmer died from typhoid in Serbia on 11 July 1915.
