Service with the Army

This is memoir is an account of the author's experiences with women's army organizations, as well as a brief history of women in previous wars. In 1917, Gwynne-Vaughan was appointed Controller of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps in France. For her service, she became the first woman to receive a military CBE in 1918. She also served as Commandant of the Women's Royal Air Force (WRAF) from September 1918 until December 1919.
