Abstract

This volume is the memoir of Grace Porter Miller, one of the 300,000 women who served in the Women's Army Corps in World War II. After joining the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps, the author was assigned to forces in England, where she served as a cryptographic technician near the front lines of combat. In this book, she describes her adventures in Britain and France, and her battles with chauvinism.
