This film considers the final days of German occupation of Paris during World War II from the French, German, and American perspectives. Hitler ordered the military commander of Paris to burn the city rather than surrender it to Allied forces. French resistance fighters, intense Allied pressure after the invasion of Normandy, and defiance from within the German high command spared the city.
