Abstract

A group of French, Jews, Hungarians, Poles, Romanians, Spaniards, Italians, and Armenians - the Manoukian Group - briefly set off a wave of armed resistance in occupied Paris in the spring of 1943. German officials and French collaborators arrested them and sentenced them to death. The backlash led them to paint the Manoukian Group as terrorists.
