Les guichets du Louvre / Black Thursday

Based on the memoir Les Guichets du Louvre by Roger Boussinot, published in 1960, Black Thursday offers a fictionalized account of the Vel' d'Hiv Roundup in 1942, when French police arrested over 13,000 Jewish inhabitants of Paris and held them under inhumane conditions for deportation to Auschwitz. The film follows a young student named Paul, who, upon learning that the police have completely cordoned off the Saint-Paul district to arrest all the Jews who live there, tries to do everything possible to save their lives.
