Abstract | A biography of Jones, deemed the "Father of the American Navy" due to his work in the American Revolutionary War. Jones, a Scotsman who loathes the British, finds work on the seas as a slaver before briefly settling in British North America. He joins the patriots when war breaks out, serving as a naval ambassador to win France's aid. His success there leads him work for Catherine the Great of Russia. |
