Abstract

This volume serves as the culmination of a research project entitled "Sweden during the Second World War," supported by the Bank of Sweden for 30 years, and simultaneously to mark the end of the Second World War 50 years ago. The volume centers around the history and myth of World War II, as well as war experiences and their roles in national myths. This work gives special import to the countries of Scandinavia and the ways in which the Second World War impacted and was impacted by them.
