Abstract	A comedy produced by West Germany and France. After the battle of Sedan in September 1870 during the Franco-Prussian War (1870–1871) a pair of soldiers, one French and one German, become separated from their respective units. Taking shelter in a farmhouse, the two begin to bond despite their rivalry over a woman. When they hear the call for war, each one accidently wears the other's uniform.
