Based on a short story by Rudyard Kipling, two former British soldiers become gods in a remote Asian country. After fighting in India, Carnehan and Dravot opt for more adventure rather than returning to dead-end jobs in England. They travel to Kafiristan and are mistaken for gods. When the truth is revealed, the two flee for their lives.
