| Abstract | The film is based on a true story of Baroness Yulia Petrovna Vrevskaya (1838/1841-1878), who died in Bulgaria during the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878), in which Bulgaria gained independence from the Ottoman Empire. An early widowed baroness, having left Petersburg, and having invested all her money in organizing a volunteer sanitary detachment, she becomes a nurse on the war front. |
