Abstract

Flame and Citron follow two legendary figures in the Danish resistance movement during World War II to explore the moral ambiguity of war. Bent Hviid (Flammen) and Jørgen Schmith (Citron) move from killing Danish collaborators to Gestapo officers in and around Copenhagen. One becomes more violent and vengeful while the other wrestles with his actions and feelings of betrayal.
