Abstract

The proceedings of a colloquium on "Peace movements and initiatives in international politics, 1867-1928," held in Stuttgart on 29-30 August 1985, organized by the International Association for Contemporary European History. Text is in German, French, and English.

"In order to study ideas, projects, and the actions of people seeking peace, the International Association for the Contemporary History of Europe dedicated a colloquium, within the framework of the Global Congress of Historical Sciences, at Stuttgart, in August 1985. The papers presented at this colloquium bear witness to the wealth and diversity of perspectives open to the historical study of social and ideological movements centered around the search for peace, and of the influence of utopias on the initiatives taken by states in favor of international peace from the mid-19th century to the 1920s."
