Abstract

This chapter in the anthology Forgotten Captives in Japanese-Occupied Asia eplores the experiences of women and children in captivity in Japanese-occupied Asia. Some female prisoners were sent to work in Japan, others were used as "comfort women" in brothels for the Japanese army. Children were exploided in domestic service.
