Abstract

Created by a nongovernmental organization, the Genocide Archive of Rwanda is a large database of materials about the 1994 genocide against the country's Tutsi population. The digital collections include more than 8,000 photographs, videos, and archives documenting events before, during, and after the genocide, including reconciliation and recovery efforts. The collections are both browseable and searchable and include collections of first-person testimonies, of maps, and more. Although the site has an extensive English–language version, many materials, especially documents, are in French.
