| Abstract | The first film to dramatize Brazil's involvement in World War II, A Estrada 47 explores frailty and courage through a group of soldiers tasked with clearing landmines in northern Italy during the winter of 1944. After one explodes, survivors regroup and encounter their former enemies, an Italian and German who deserted. Fearing they will be labeled as such, the group decide to carry on their mission by defusing mines along Road 47. |
