Schrift der Flammen: Opfermythen und Weiblichkeitsentwürfe im 20. Jahrhundert

This  edited volume presents early work by German feminist cultural scholars on the contructions  of female  victimhood. It focuses on four themes. I. old and new sacrifical cults, II. the fascination of violence as a symptom of crisis, III. constructions of sacrifice in National Socialism, and IV. female sacrificial myth and psychoanalysis. The book, published in the early 1990s was a contribution to the  debate on women as "vitims or perpetrators" in Nazi Germany that had started in the late 1980s.
