The Wars of Independence in Spanish America

In this book, the editor provides a historiographical approach to the Latin American wars for independence. This book examines the revolutions, civil wars, campaigns, guerilla struggles, insurgencies, counter-insurgencies, and interventions of the 19th century. Arranged thematically rather than geographically, the essays, selected from recent publications, examine the origins and consequences of the wars, and the context of each struggle.
