Commissioned by the U.S.S.R for the tenth anniversary of the October Revolution in 1917, this celebratory documentary film portrays events in revolutionary Petrograd (St. Petersburg) such as the end of the Russian monarchy and provisional government, counter-revolutionaries revolt, Lenin's return from exile, and the ten-day Bolshevik strike the shook the world.
