Abstract

This article presents an interview with Marjorie Cole, former staff sergeant and pensioner at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, and Lieutenant Corporal Holly Innes of the British Army. Both women talk about the deployment of women on the war front. Cole shares that she joined the Army in 1961 to do something different. Innes believes that it is a personal choice if a woman soldier opts to be deployed on the front. Cole affirms her belief that there should be equality and choice for both men and women in the service.
