Abstract

In the Spanish Civil War, the putschists received support from Hitler's Germany and Mussolini-Italy and the Republic rushed to help anti-fascists from many countries - including many women. Together with the Spaniards they fought on the fronts, in hospitals or in hospitals in the hinterland as nurses or as doctors. 3,431 could be located, including 2,188 Spaniards. At the same time, this book also makes it clear which emancipatory uproar and outbreak of this male-dominated, Catholic society represented the Popular Front movement. This surge of social progress had an effect and probably prevented Franco-Spain from entering World War II with Nazi Germany. (Amazon)
