Abstract | Densho is a Seattle, WA–based group dedicated to preserving the history and testimonies of the more than 120,000 Japanese Americans who were removed from their homes and detained during World War II. A collaboration with several organizations and archives, this digital archive grants users access to a range of browseable collections, many of which represent the materials donated by a single family or, in another instance, the pages of a newspaper, The Pacific Citizen, published by the Japanese American Citizens League. Users can also browse by topic, detention facility, and name. Finding aids and some sources are in English, while some materials are in Japanese only. |
