Abstract

This article deals with the crime of sexual violence in the internal armed conflict in Columbia from the perspective of gender within the framework of Human Rights International Law; a country where during the past 52 years, the most vulnerable, marginalized and discriminated against women were systematically and generally victimized through this crime of gender, perpetrated as a weapon of war by all of the actors in the conflict- the state security forces, paramilitary forces and armed groups within a context of structural impunity that has scarcely been noted in the current peace process; the fight and protagonism of these invisible victims towards a construction of gender justice, was illustrated on November 24, 2016 in the Acuerdo General para la Terminación del Conflicto y la Construcción de una Paz Estable y Duradera (General Agreement for the End of the Conflict and Construction of a Stable and Lasting Peace), signed by the Columbian government and the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia-Ejército del Pueblo (The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia-People´s Army).
