Abstract | Created by the University of St. Andrews, the Records of the Parliaments of Scotland to 1707 is a database searchable for documents dating back to the earliest surviving text of 1235. Growing from over a decade of work by the researchers of the Scottish Parliament Project at the university's School of History, the digital archive makes these sources available to students, teachers, and researchers. The documents of parliaments and conventions of estates include committee records and parliamentary minutes, and are accompanied by commentary and annotation. Parallel translations from Latin, French, and Scots into English and standardized personal and place names improve accessibility. |
