Abstract

Two thick volumes gather the proceedings of the congress of Military History dedicated to the Hispanic Monarchy held in Madrid in March 2005. The aim of these two volumes is to deepen the historiographical revisionism undertaken by the New Military History school in its objective of abandoning the traditional battle history and linking the military fact to the great political, socio-economic and cultural processes of Modern Europe. The scientific material is divided into two main sections: Politics, Strategy, Organization and War at Sea, which deals with questions related to the military organization and political strategies of the Habsburg dynasty, and Army, Economy, Society and Culture, dedicated to the implications of the military factor in other areas of the society of the time.
