An exploitation film of war and sexual violence, Five Gates to Hell represents the fears of communism that gripped Americans in the early Cold War. In the early 1950s, guerillas attack an army hospital in French Indochina, staffed by an international healthcare team, and force the doctor and nurses to care for their leader, an ailing warlord. The warlord and guerillas force the women into sexual slavery. The nurses flee, fighting the guerillas in their escape.
