Abstract

This landmark film explores race, gender, and sexuality in the Troubles. IRA volunteer Fergus forms a relationship with his captor, a black British soldier who begs him to protect his lover Dil. When the kidnapping goes horribly wrong, Fergus escapes to London and assumes a new identity. He finds Dil, and the two discover an unlikely attraction and love for each other.
