Abstract

Based on the life of screewriter Dalton Trumbo, this film uncovers the history of the Hollywood 10 and the costs of anti-communism during the Cold War. In 1947, Trumbo refuses to answer questions about his affiliation with the Communist Party USA from the House of Un-American Activities. After serving jail time for contempt of Congress, Trumbo contines working as a ghostwriter but at great professional, financial, and emotional costs.
