Produced at the start of the Cold War and in the wake of the Hollywood Ten, this film exposes the roots of American communism in the labor movement and its deadly manifestations. The leader of the local cell of communists in San Francisco blackmail Brad Collins, who was a former member of the Communist Party USA during the Great Depression. The film offers a black-and-white morality tale: All who were or are communists or who associate with communists die.
