Abstract | Based on the French graphic novel by Fabien Nury and Thierry Robin, this black comedy exposes the machinations for power after the death of Joseph Stalin. After the Soviet Premier requests a recording of a classical concert, pianist Maria Yudina secretly poisons through a note sent with it. Soviet politicians and military officials, including the reform-minded Khrushchev, immediately begin jockeying for power by committing murder and other acts of violence. |
